“My hope is for those who work with me WILL see how normal an experience these thoughts and feelings are to have, and to learn how to move past them to see all of the potential that still exists.”
We are all working our way through life for the first time, and it can be so frustrating to feel as though others have it more figured out than you do. I am here to help you see that you have the strength and knowledge to flourish if given the opportunity, tools, and care to do so. Through the hundreds of people I have worked with, I routinely hear people saying, “why me?” “Why can’t I?” or “I should…”.
My hope is for those who work with me to see how normal of an experience these thoughts and feelings are to have, and to learn how to move past them to see all of the potential that still exists.
From someone who has been on both sides of the therapy couch, I understand the hesitancy towards getting support but can assure you as well how beneficial it can be.
While working in the addictions field, I could not help but notice the relationship between substance use and ADHD. I felt for my clients who did not realize how much their ADHD symptoms affected them on a daily basis and contributed to their substance use. It is then that I began to learn more on ADHD through courses, books, and webinars so I could better support these clients in their recovery. My clients can expect me to use an eclectic style of therapeutic modalities, pulling most often from CBT, DBT, and SFT, while currently educating myself on polyvagal theory.
My goal is to provide a comforting and casual environment where conversations centered around you and your needs can take place. Paired with my knowledge and support we can strategize ways for change to take place and get you to where you want to be.
